Close exciting Croquet games were played in the national knockout women’s competition at the Northern Tasmania Croquet Centre on Saturday.

Reigning champion Alison Sharpe, of New South Wales, had a fantastic win with 26 hoops and a triple peel in the first game.
She then backed it up with a 26 hoops to two hoops triumph in the second.
South Australia’s Robyn Short had a narrow victory with a golden hoop in her opening match and a ball peg out in the next.
Tasmanian player Sue Beattie played a very controlled match despites stiff competition from several interstate rivals.
South Australian Helena Panasewycz, with a handicap of 11, played very well and will be a threat in the future.
Competition will be played at the St Leonards centre until Tuesday.
The public are invited to attend the event, which feature the top women from across the country.
