Shamrocks captain Michael Lukic said his side had performed well to win some tight matches but still had improvement to make to produce their best cricket.
“The positive is that we have been winning these close ones but we don’t want to keep on making games tight,” Lukic said.
“We’ve had batsmen making starts but just no-one going on for us which is hurting us so hopefully e will get someone to go on soon and that’s something we are working on and hopefully we can get it together after Christmas.
“There is quite a bit of cricket coming up after Christmas but that might just be what we need to get everything going and moving forward for us for the rest of the year.
“We’ve got a bit to think about with two-day cricket coming up and obviously the Greater Northern Cup finals – it’s a good experience and we’re in a good position at the minute which is exciting.”
Final Greater Northern Cup positions – Westbury 75 (points), Devonport 68, Latrobe 65, Burnie 56, South 53, Riverside 42, Mowbray 40, Ulverstone 32, Wynyard 30, Launceston 13, Sheffield 4.
Westbury will play Burnie in their semi-final at Westbury on Sunday, January 8.
