Little Brooklyn Bailey entered the world in a hurry and in fine style. She was delivered in the back of an ambulance on the side of the New England Highway at East Maitland on Sunday, December 4 at 11.29pm.
Kate, of Ashtonfield, started getting contractions about 7pm.
"I just thought I was getting cramps but Joel said to ring the midwife and if I didn't do that, either my mother or Joel would have been delivering her,” she said.
"We called an ambulance at 11.15pm and the contractions escalated. We wouldn't have been two minutes from home and the ambulance had to pull over near Green Hills."
Mother and baby were taken to Maitland Hospital and given a clean bill of health.
"I want to say a huge thank you to the ambulance officers and thanks to our midwife Rachel and staff at Maitland Hospital. It's been an amazing experience,” Kate said.
