The Tasmanian Amateur Boxing League state team returned home with a swag of medals following the Australian Amateur Boxing League national titles in Cairns at the end of November.

The Tasmanian team, consisting of 28 fighters from across the state, was the most successful winning the overall medal count with 17 gold and 13 silver medals.
The Launceston Boxing club had two boxers in Layton McFerren and Bailey Wells competing.
Wells won a gold medal in the 57-kilogram junior division making that his third year in a row winning gold at the national titles.
McFerren, who captained the state team, fought in two divisions winning gold in the 60kg intermediate.
He then stepped up an age division to the 60kg seniors division and fought in the gold medal bout where he won a silver medal in a close contest against a Queensland boxer.
It was the second year in a row that McFerran had won a national gold medal.
Two other Launceston boxers who took part in Danni and Brodie Clayton, from the Tigers Den Boxing Club, came home with silver medals.
Other Tasmanian boxers who won medals were : Christina Jacobson (team vice-captain) (two gold medals), Zab Wells (gold), Dids Mawaka (gold), Connor Walker (gold), Jackson Barker (gold), Beau Woods (gold), Ryan Gratich (gold), Tristan Clarke (gold), Phoebe Barnett (gold), Thomas Barker (gold), Kyle Curtin (gold), Caden Rossi (gold), Liam McKenzie (gold) and Daniel Warwarwick (gold).
Also bringing home medals were Glenn McKewan (silver), Alex Lockwood (silver), Terry Millhouse (silver), Kalila Hapkia (silver), Jaden Tapp (silver), Thomas Marney (silver), Karen Jackson (silver), Koby Hassett (gold and silver), Dakota Gittus (silver), Braydon Blackaby (silver).
The Australian Amateur Boxing League national titles were held in Cairns from November 24-26.
