Now to the stuff that really counts: the finals. The Blues have patiently waited for it.
“We’ve probably known since about three weeks ago,” Launceston assistant coach Brett Sweeney said.
The women’s state league team will play in its third straight final series, but have been knocked out in week one for the past two years.
“We’ve been up there for a few years and now I think we feel comfortable,” he added.
Launceston now faces a semi-final against Glenorchy.
The Blues scored a 15-point win over Glenorchy a fortnight ago, their first over the Magpies for two years.
“We didn’t want to go into the finals losing against one of the teams we knew we’d be playing,” Sweeney said.
“We want to take that next step and win a final.
“Once you’re in a preliminary final, anything can happen from there.”
