The 20-year-old, former Brooks High and Launceston College student, played his junior footy at North before graduating to seniors in 2013 and was part of the club’s 2014 TSL premiership victory. He missed out on the 2015 flag after a move to Queensland but is keen for more finals action with the Bombers this season.
“My form has been on and off – I’ve had a few good games but I think I have a little bit more to improve,” he said.
Bannister said the playing group were disappointed after their loss to Burnie in the final round of the season and were ready for another crack at the Dockers on Saturday in the qualifying final.
“They wanted it more last time but I think if we all play our role the whole 22 of us we should hopefully get up. I’m keen as to play finals and can’t wait and hopefully we can get to another grannie.
“Three in a row doesn’t come around often and it would be good for the club.”
