Two-time Launceston premiership utility and coach Brennan Savage, 31, will play the season’s remainder with Perth, while keeping his 2017 State League options open.
Work commitments kept him from playing in the top-flight this year, but “itchy feet” got the better of the real estate agent.
Savage coached the Blues in 2013 after a stint with Clarence and said it was nice to return to the field with a big bag against Tamar Cats two weeks ago. “I’m in a position to enjoy myself and help a club trying to get back on the right track,” he said.
“Having played 15 years at senior level it wasn’t quite right to retire and give it all away.
“I’m not quite finished but certainly not in a condition to play State League footy, but that is still a possibility.
“I’ll be working towards that through this year and possibly through the Christmas period.”
