“I’m only having one or two lead-in races for my preparation for Rio, and this is one of them,” Adams said.
“I’m at the early stages of my preparation where my focus is to adapt to 185-kilometre weeks without doing any specific hard marathon type sessions.
“So I’m hoping this race brings me some good strength leading into the introduction of marathon specific hard sessions into my program.”
The 29-year-old Victorian won the event in 2011 and 2014, and is excited to try for his third title.
“I enjoy coming down to the Launceston 10 because it’s the fastest course in Australia and it always draws the best fields,” Adams said.
Reigning winner Duer Yoa will join Adams and a quality field of Tasmanian athletes, including Josh Harris, David Thomas and in-form Dylan Evans.
