IT'S probably the closest thing to fantasy football for music fans.
"Imagine if (Band A) had a crack at (Band B)'s tune?"
"How good would it be if (Musician X) joined (Band C) for a set?"
"Why can't Little Barrie just do ALL of Lou Reed's songs?"
Triple J's weekly Like a Version segment has become a staple of Australian radio - and rightly so.
The annual highlights album, however, had gone a little stale for me - more because of the tracks picked as opposed to the concept.
Volume 10 is a return to form.
My personal favourite is REMI's take on The Avalanches' Since I Left You, followed by Chet Faker crooning (Lover) You Don't Treat Me No Good, and Swedish duo First Aid Kit trying to out-folk Jack White on Love Interruption.
