City of Launceston was sitting third with a 3-1 record before the game and started favourite but its southern opposition proved too strong winning by 16 points.
A bad injury to a Clarence player delayed the game for an hour while an ambulance was called but it overcame that obstacle to finish the second half with five players but took home the win.
Fourth-placed Penguin caused another upset knocking off top team in the BT High Performance side in an important win for the Coastal team as it battles for its spot in the top four.
It was the BT High Performance team’s first defeat in four rounds, with Penguin winning by eight points.
In the men’s competition, the Launceston Rebels upset the Devils by 16 points in a victory that moved them to 3-4, and still a chance to make the finals.
The BT High Performance men’s team beat Burnie by eight points in Launceston in yesterday’s game in another crucial match-up as the two teams battled for fourth position on the ladder.
Hobart Grenadiers defeated Hobart Moonah on Friday night in Hobart by 12 points but went down to Burnie by 14 in Saturday’s game.
