Dale Chugg and Steane Kremerskothen were both part of the last two premierships North won in the old Statewide League in 1995 and 1998.
Kremerskothen was captain of the 1995 premiership side and said the two state premierships were the highlight of a 19-year, 250-game, football career.
``The 1995 one came out of the blue, a bit like this one and I guess we weren't expecting it at the start of the year so it was great when we got it,'' he said.
``We only lost one game in '95 and that was by a kick and in '98 we went through undefeated under Mathew Armstrong who was captain-coach.
``That year we had a really good football side and we went in expecting to win and beat Clarence by about 50 points.''
Kremerskothen said the club had probably lost about five grand finals since the halcyon days of the late 1990s.
``It would be nice to win one and these young guys have done a terrific job to get there and no-one expected it - to win it would be a great bonus.''
Chugg said both of the premierships teams of the '90s were great sides.
``Armstrong was a lot more strict as a coach but David Rhys-Jones who coached the '95 side liked to get out on the beer and brought us together like that,'' he said.
``I think we had about eight players in the state team in 1998 and we had some great games against Clarence over those years and there was a bit of blood spilt.''
He said it would be great for the club to finally enjoy some premiership success again tomorrow.
``I watched the team play earlier in the year and thought they are a young side and will be very hard to beat in a year or two - but something clicked half-way through the year and they have been pretty dominant the last six to eight games.''
