The Suns have never made the final series of the competition in their 25-year history while Devonport has won the cup on five separate occasions.
The Suns held the top of the ladder mid-season with wins over every team in competition, a point that should not be lost on City Marians who have this week off as they go into the final with other teams playing for the last final spot.
The Suns have defeated the Subbies in all rounds of the home and away series, and again find themselves at full strength with Alastair McBain strengthening the attack.
Goalkeeper Jesse Duncan and fullbacks Chris Banfield and Craig Kershaw were well in the mix last week, sending the ball from defence to attack with consummate ease, channelling the ball through captain Chris Connolly.
The Suns' teenage forward pack has pace and fitness to burn and skill levels to match the Subbies' aging defence.
The Subbies rose to the top late in the season as the new-look defence headed by keeper Dereck Heathorn and Subbies captain Tony Hays got used to each other.
Ben Loone's centre control and vision sets the Subbies attack and he will again be instrumental in the attack, along with Henery, Mick Williams and Bruce Will as they probe the Suns defence.
