Australian forward Abby Bishop, who joined the Torns during the week as a replacement for the injured Nadeen Payne, was the away side's best performer in a losing cause as the Lady Chargers powered away in the final stanza to record a 82-62 point victory.
The Tornadoes held the advantage for a brief period in the second quarter but Hobart managed to lead at every change.
The margin was only three points after the first two quarters, but it grew to nine points at the final break and the eventual 20 points at game's end.
Bishop finished with a Torns-high 22 points, nine rebounds, three assists and one block and steal.
Lauren Mansfield also sunk 22 points and managed five boards.
However, Lady Chargers captain Eliza Chilcott was the game's standout performer alongside Kathleen Scheer.
Chilcott shot a game-high 30 points, had 13 rebounds and four assists, while Scheer was not far behind with 23 points, five assists and three blocks.
Launceston's field goal shooting was down to just 33 per cent compared to Hobart's 51 per cent.
The Tornadoes take on reigning champion Knox Raiders at Elphin Stadium tonight.
