ALL systems are go for orienteering's Oceania Championships and World Cup round to be held in the state in January after officials spent the week looking over facilities.

The events will be held from January 2-11 at locations such as the First Basin and the University of Tasmania in Launceston, Diddleum Plains near Myrtle Park, Avoca, Swansea, Coles Bay and St Helens, with sprint, middle and long distance events.
Yesterday, officials, including International Orienteering Federation event advisor Graham Teahan, from New Zealand, and nationally appointed controller Paul Prudhoe, of New South Wales, believed things were on track.
"I think progress is excellent and everything is on track," Teahan said.
"I'm here to check that the maps are correct and that they are up to IOF standards, as well as the courses and at the moment I'm happy with the progress.
"There is still fine-tuning to be done and I will raise issues from this visit that the planners and the mappers will have to go back and have a look at these things.
"With the distances that we've got (the courses) are going to be a test and the courses are as good as any I've seen overseas."
Organisers have until October to have everything set in stone.
It is expected at least 750 runners from 21 countries will compete in all age groups over the events, including Tasmania's former world champion Hanny Allston.
