A born and bred Tasmanian, he is both passionate and deeply concerned about his home state, particularly the alarming rate of unemployment.
Mark enjoys the outdoor life and is active in his local community. He was president of the motorcycle rider’s association for fifteen years and was heavily involved in fundraising activity for a number of worthy causes, such as the Red Cross, Kids with Cancer, Cancer Foundation and St Vincent de Paul.
Demonstrating a deep commitment to his community, Mark has served for over a decade with the volunteer fire brigade, attaining the rank of Brigade Chief and Sector Commander.
He is very concerned about road safety and wants all Tasmanians to have a future to look forward to, something he feels is beyond the current generation.
“Too many people are suffering in Tasmania and the only time we ever see our politicians do anything is around election time. At the next election I’m sure Tasmanians won’t be fooled by this again,” he said.
“We need investment in our industries and small business owners need to have confidence in the state government. What we have at the moment is a government that seems intent on closing Tasmania down.
“Palmer United has a group of people who will stand by their promises and will not go back on their word.”
