Hobart-born and bred, John is equally passionate about his community and the state of Tasmania. He says local government, tourism, infrastructure and racing and gaming sit near the top of his policy interests
He would like to see improved roads, increased export opportunities for local businesses and openings for new and existing businesses to expand and grow employment opportunities.
“This beautiful state has so much to offer and has been taken for granted for way too long,” John said.
“I want to help get Tasmania moving and start creating jobs for the people here. We have to speak with both small and large business to find out from them what conditions they need to grow and begin employing more people.
“The state government has let Tasmania down in the past and continues to let us down now. Nothing is happening in this state and it’s time for a change.
“There’s a lack of confidence in the community and Tasmanians feel neglected by their politicians. High unemployment, growing hospital waiting lists, mounting debt, the list goes on. Something has to be done.”
An active member of his community, John sponsors many local sporting clubs and is a life member of the Lindisfarne Football Club.
