Born and raised in Lyons, I have been advocating for the needs of rural and regional Tasmanians for most of my life.
I gained a law degree and Master of Laws at the University of Tasmania before working for law firms in Melbourne and Washington, D.C.
A proud champion for small business as the backbone of our regional communities, I am concerned about the dominance of the major chain supermarkets. I also have a goal of growing our mining and forestry sectors into innovative, modern industries towards a strong economy.
I am a strong advocate for volunteers, veterans, the disadvantaged, healthier lifestyles, families and marriage. My wife Kate and I are blessed with three children, Nina, Alice and Ben.
I am currently Ambassador for Diabetes Australia and Motor Neurone Disease Australia and have produced four books on topics including the obesity epidemic and Tasmania’s Victoria Cross recipients.
