A fifth-generation Tasmanian, I have lived and worked all my life in the northern midlands, where my wife Merrilyn and I reside at Bracknell. We have three adult children and four fantastic grandchildren, reaffirming my desire and passion to work hard for local communities and helping create a better place for future generations.

I am involved in the local agriculture industry with a family farm and have previous experience in school transport, earth moving and petroleum businesses. I also have a Diploma of Teaching in the automotive industry.
As Member for Lyons and past Mayor of Meander Valley for nine years, I have personally felt the challenges faced by small businesses, communities and townships.
My vision for the region is one of continual development and growth for our agricultural, forestry and business sectors, as well as stability for health, education and emergency services throughout small communities.
A strong believer in community participation, I am a life member of the Bracknell Football and Cricket Clubs; a country member of the Thirlstane Golf Club; a member of the Port Sorell Surf Life Saving Club and Westbury RSL; patron of Cressy Bowls Club and the Bothwell Football Club; and vice patron of the Bracknell Football Club.
