MIKE Hussey believes Australian selectors have made a mistake in dropping George Bailey from next month's Test tour of South Africa in a continuation of his public support of the former South Launceston batsman.

"I'm shocked to be honest, as he's a great character and a great person to have around the team," Hussey told The Examiner yesterday.
"He offers a lot more than his cricketing ability to a team and South Africa is a tough place to tour and you need to have good team men there.
"The other side is that it is not easy for someone to come in and dominate in their first five Test matches, particularly in a high- profile series.
"I'm disappointed for George and I hope he can get back in and prove the selectors wrong."
