Geoff Lyons is the Federal Member for Bass. He has had an extensive career in Health Administration, being manger at Beaconsfield Hospital and a business manager at the Launceston General Hospital.

This experience provided him with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges faced by our health system and hospitals. Geoff also spent three years as the Head of Office for the Attorney General in Tasmania.
Community involvement has always been a priority for Geoff, particularly in relation to Aged Care, Surf Lifesaving, Netball and Aussie Rules football administration. Geoff is a Life Member of Surf Life Saving Tasmania, Surf Life Saving Australia and the North Launceston Football Club. He holds the Australian Government's Sports Medal and the Emergency Services Medal, and on Australian Day in 2010, was named Citizen of the Year in West Tamar.
Geoff is a Northern Tasmanian and he and his wife Sheryle have raised three daughters – one a teacher, one a chef and one studying physiotherapy at University.
