Bulldogs officials were un-contactable after the general meeting, however, a club member ?last night confirmed to The Examiner that the decision made was for South to join the NTFA in 2014.
At the reported heated meeting, members voted to amend the club's constitution to enable it to ?play in a regional competition rather than at the highest level possible.
The Mitch Thorp coached Bulldogs are currently sitting on top of the TSL ladder and are favourites to take of this year's flag.
?Prior to the count it was understood a majority the playing group were in favour of playing in the State League under any new licence entity, but club stalwarts and supporters wanted to maintain the club's heritage.
?AFL Tasmania, who was also unavailable for comment, will now likely take the 50 per cent stake in the new club to be based in Launceston' s western suburbs or offer a full licence to Prospect.
AFL Tasmania decided not to renew South Launceston's TSL licence from next season because of well-known financial difficulties.
