South-West trail bike riders are now warming up for the 40th annual Capel 200 Trail Bike Rally on September 12. Organised by the Ironstone Adventure Riding Club and supported by Healthway and Yamaha, the event provides a relaxed, family atmosphere for participants and supporters alike. The rally will deliver a well-organised, safe, and non-competitive event where riders of all levels and experience can enjoy the many existing trails in the Capel-Jarrahwood area without the pressure of competition. A number of optional technical sections will be provided for riders who want a bigger challenge to test their skills on. The rally is a long-standing event on the local calendar and couldn't happen without the support of the community. Part proceeds from the event will be donated to a local community organisation. Sanctioned by the environmental authority and local shires, the club puts a lot of effort into designing safe, sustainable courses which use minor tracks and trails and avoid major roads. The tracks are are alternated annually to avoid over-use. The event starts and finishes at the Ironstone property, just west of Ironstone Falls on the Capel-Donnybrook Road. "It's a great opportunity for riders to enjoy the beautiful Capel-Jarrahwood area at a safe and relaxed event, and we really enjoy being able to support both the trail riders and the Capel area alike," Event organiser Rob Harvey said.
