Yorkshire all-rounder Jordan Thompson has secured the Hobart Hurricanes' final list spot for BBL11.
Joining fellow Englishman Harry Brook and star leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane as the side's three international imports, the 25-year-old is coming off a breakout 2020 season.
Thompson scored 234 runs and took 15 wickets in Yorkshire's five group matches in the Bob Willis Trophy, falling two runs short of a maiden hundred against Nottinghamshire before taking his first five-wicket haul and hitting 62 against Leicestershire.
"I'm really excited to play in the Big Bash for the first time," Thompson said.
"Back home, it's a tournament we watch with great interest during the winter months, so I'm looking forward to meeting up with the team and experiencing it for myself.
"It will be great to work with a new bunch of players and coaching staff, and I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can and playing the role that the team need me to."
In good news for Hurricanes fans, Thompson is no stranger to big partnerships with fellow recruit Brook, with the pair setting a record sixth-wicket stand of 141 in a T20 match earlier this year.
Thompson smacked 74 off just 35 balls while Brook finished unbeaten on 45 off 26 as the pair combined for the 141-run stand off 56 balls.
Also rated as an excellent fielder, Thompson, who represented the Northern Superchargers in the inaugural edition of The Hundred, loves to hit the ball hard with a high strike-rate at the back end of the innings and aims to shine through the middle overs with his right-arm pace bowling.
The Hurricanes' season start isn't far away, with UTAS Stadium hosting their first match-up against the Sydney Sixers on December 8.
