Little Athletics Tasmania reported a "brilliant day of competition" from the latest round of their state series at the Northern Athletics Centre in Launceston on Saturday.
More than 350 athletes, ranging from five to 15 years of age and representing 17 centres from across Tasmania, contested a hectic programme of track and field events which delivered a swag of qualifiers for the state individual championships to be held in March.
Little Athletics Tasmania president Brett Johnstone said it was a successful day.
"This meeting provides a friendly, yet competitive atmosphere in the Little Athletics spirit of 'family, fun and fitness', and is a major event in the Little Athletics Tasmania calendar," he said. "A number of state records were under threat with several talented junior athletes entered."
Johnstone also thanked everyone who assisted on the day, especially the South Launceston Little Athletics Centre, who provided much of the equipment used.
The next and final event in the state series will be held in Penguin on Saturday, December 11.
