Starting her WBBL campaign with a bang on Thursday night, Melbourne Star and new Tasmanian Tiger Elyse Villani was quick to praise a Tassie legend.
Impressing pundits with her power hitting in the rain-reduced 11-over game, Villani scored an unbeaten 54 off 31 balls, crediting Tigers assistant coach Dan Marsh for the knock.
"We've actually been doing a bit of power-hitting in Tassie," Villani said on the coverage.
"I've obviously made the switch this year and Dan Marsh has taken us under his wing as a new project.
"He felt we didn't spend enough time as female players working on our power hitting and I totally agree with him.
"It's been awesome just to experiment, but I didn't think I'd get to try it first game."
Former state skipper Marsh coached Tasmania's men's side for four seasons before being sacked in 2017.
He was then announced Salliann Beams' deputy in 2018.
