Arrangements to reduce the risk of close contact and large numbers of people assembling at court would be put in place to protect the health of court users, a Supreme Court of Tasmania statement read.
"No criminal jury trials are currently in progress and none will commence this week," the statement said.
"However, unless they have been excused, jurors who have received summonses are still required to attend court on March 17 to enable enquiries to be made, and to receive further instruction."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Jury trials are slated to resume on March 23, when new health and safety arrangements will be in place.
People other than jurors will still be required to attend court as usual.
Further information about court listings will be issued during the week.
The announcement came after Judges received a coronavirus briefing from acting public health director Dr Scott McKeown on Sunday.
The situation remains under review and the court is monitoring state and federal government coronavirus announcements and advice.
