“I’ve been eating so much in Tasmania,” she said.
Lawson visited Black Cow Bistro on her first night in Launceston, where she had “beautiful wine, excellent bread and butter, oysters, a gorgeous steak … and yuzi meringue pie.”
“My first meal in Tasmania was the best kind of welcome,” she said.
Later, Lawson posted a picture of salt-roasted potatoes with miso butter that she ordered at Stillwater, which she said were “just splendiferous.”
She also tried the whipped coe roe with rye lavosh crackers.
“Could eat both forever,” she said.
In Hobart, Lawson also called into Franklin restaurant, where she had “many exquisite plates”.
“Not one dish less than inspiring – creative by not fussy – and happy-making,” she said. “I loved watching the cooks working so calmly and peaceably in the open kitchen.”
