Cooking queues don’t come much bigger than when Nigella Lawson is in town, and the domestic goddess’ pulling power was on full display at Petrarch’s Bookshop on Tuesday.

A line that stretched around to Rockin Hot Pizza on York Street greeted the food writer as she arrived for a book signing of her latest release At My Table, ahead of her scheduled appearance at the Country Club in the evening.
The waiting time did nothing to dampen the enthusiasm of fans, who were excited at the chance to get a glimpse of their idol.
Among them was Deloraine’s Erin Hall, who is in her second year of training to be a chef.
Like Lawson, she has branched out into food writing, and aims to release a Tasmanian cook book sometime in the next 12 months.
She said it meant a lot to be able to tell Lawson of her plans in person.
“She wished me luck, which was really nice,” she said.
“Nigella is definitely one of the reasons I got into cooking.”
