Mowbray Hotel burgled by three coin-stealing thieves

Three thieves have escaped with a “large quantity” of $1 coins after breaking into the Mowbray Hotel.

Caught on CCTV, the burglars forced their way into the Invermay Road business about 3.40am Friday.

Launceston CIB is investigating and has asked for information from the public.

Anyone who witnessed the burglary should contact them on 6777 3945 or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000.

The Mowbray burglary follows three business break-ins at Exeter last week.

Thieves smashed their way through the back door of Nigel’s Gourmet on Tamar last Monday, stealing cash, ipads, a security camera, an eftpos machine and keys to a delivery van – they left the van behind.

The butcher was one of three Main Road businesses broken into that morning.

Exeter IGA had 14 punnets of blueberries stolen and True Value Hardware was burgled but nothing was taken.
