The latest bout of graffiti, encountered on Sunday and the weekend before last, was located on the Kings Bridge Gorge walk.
The vandalism comes three months after a Launceston resident took Facebook to shame those responsible for defacing the area.
City of Launceston general manager Robert Dobrzynski said the council's cleansing crews work quickly to remove graffiti from council-managed assets as soon as it is reported.
“Removing graffiti quickly is one of the most effective means of discouraging vandalism,” he said.
A police spokesperson said there were offences for marking graffiti and possession graffiti equipment under the Police Offences Act.
“Police have been provided good powers … we can stop, detain and search any person or car we believe has possession of graffiti equipment. [We can] also, seize things related to the offending and arrest offenders without a warrant,” the spokesperson said.
If found guilty a court may impose a fine and/or a community service order.
Anyone with information regarding the graffiti should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
