This includes a promise of a $250 credit on household energy bills and a $300 credit on business energy bills, a 50-per-cent reduction in bus fares from July 1, and the abolition of stamp duty on property purchases of up to $750,000 for first-home buyers.
It will also cut stamp duty in half over two years for Tasmanians who buy a new apartment or unit off the plan, or under construction, up to the value of $750,000.
The Liberals have committed to start release a timetable for this year's state budget and a parliamentary sitting schedule in its first week in government.
In the health area, it has committed to begin recruitment of an extra 78 full-time paramedics statewide in the first 100 days and start to attract up to 40 new GPs to rural and regional Tasmania for five years by picking up university debts of up to $100,000 each.
It has promised to start delivering incentives to attract nurses and midwives to move to Tasmania through a relocation bonus and start negotiations for an equity share into a new private hospital in Launceston.
The Liberals in their first 100 days of government have also promised to:
- commence work on legislation that requires a parliamentarian to forfeit their seat if they were elected a member of one party and then chose to become an independent or join another party during their term;
- provide $25 million towards the new Devonport sporting precinct;
- introduce legislation for a presumptive mandatory minimum sentence for assaults on nurses, orderlies, paramedics, doctors, correctional and child safety workers, transport, hospitality and retail workers;
- introduce a new offence for road rage and double penalties for dangerous or reckless driving and motor vehicle theft;
- extend remote teacher incentives for hard-to-staff schools, including settling in payments on commencement of employment and additional payments for every year of service up to year six;
- and start new scholarship programs for education and care qualifications, including 200 scholarships of $15,000 and 20 additional scholarships for speech pathologists and psychologists to secure employment for a minimum of three years.
