The former Launceston player led the Parrots from six wins in 2017 to eight this season, and would have added a finals appearance to the resume but for four losses to end the season as the club’s injury list hit double figures.
“I’ve really enjoyed it,” Demeijer said of his first season in charge.
“Phil Lethborg my bench coach has been a huge help with the football side of it and I get along with the players really well which helps - it’s definitely a player-driven team.
“The culture around the club has improved heaps from what people have told me, so off the field things are really heading in the right direction and we’re progressing that on the field as well.
“I believe and it sounds like (the board) believes we’re heading in the right direction with the young list we’ve got, and we’re going to push for bigger and better things in 2019.”
