The budget included $200,000 to secure two extra BBL games in Tasmania.
The budget papers said one would be in Launceston and one in the North-West.
The papers said the funding would depend on the expected men's BBL expansion in 2018-19.
TASMANIAN BUDGET
Treasury said the funding would go towards items including ambulance services, security, players' expenses, accommodation, marketing and community engagement.
Netball Tasmania would get $750,000 over three years towards development of grassroots and elite netball and grassroots administration.
Surf Life Saving Tasmania would get $1.8 million over four years to increase beach patrols, support surf rescue and for water safety education.
The Christmas sports carnivals would get $600,000 over three years.
The government would meet an election commitment of $500,000 over two years for Basketball Tasmania to deliver school basketball programs across the state in conjunction with SEABL clubs.
