“Young Tasmanian talent” is forecast be on next summer’s list with what should be similar looking playing roster, although paceman Andrew Fekete will be returning to Victoria.
Griffith confirmed that former Test batsman Alex Doolan, who is contracted for next summer, would be there, but the place of fellow Launceston product and all-rounder James Faulkner was not as certain.
Faulkner is coming out of contract with Griffith saying they would “soon sit down and see where he fits”.
“As I’ve said all along with Alex although he hasn’t got the runs this year, he has given us some leadership around the group helping out our young batters in particular,’’ Griffith said.
“He will go away now and reflect and we’ll sit down with him next week and go through with him what he needs to get better at and what he did well and put in place an individual plan for him over the pre-season and hopefully have him ready to go for next year.
“James has been a really great servant for Tasmanian cricket and he is still in his 20s, so we will assess where he is at over the next few days.”
