Wine Tasmania chief executive Sheralee Davies said grapes throughout the state had ripened about two weeks earlier than usual due to the weather.
“We had the warmest start to the year on record, which means that the grapes were ripening quicker,” Ms Davies said.
“At the moment it looks like reports on quality are very good … and volumes are also looking high.”
Ms Davies said Tasmania’s grape harvesting was not far from being finished.
“We’re probably still looking at harvesting for another couple of weeks,” she said.
“But, we’ll be done a lot earlier than usual.”
