Last year on March 27, the Launceston family’s life changed forever when 16-year-old Isaac ‘Maxi’ took his own life.
Now the legacy of an “incredible young man” with a love of sport is being shared across the state in the form of a rolling memorial.
The truck’s design is the result of a unique collaboration between CJD Equipment, Kenworth Trucks Australia and Walters Construction and was officially unveiled last week.
Mrs Walters said it was very important for the family to raise awareness of mental health issues and hoped the truck would help fulfill that purpose.
“We miss Isaac everyday and would give anything to have him back,” she said.
“A big part of our grieving process has been to spread the word about depression and teenage suicide prevention.
“We tell our story in the hope that another family will not go through what we have in the past 12 months.
“Sport was such a big part of Isaac’s life, so it was really important that we pay tribute to that.”

Featured on the truck is the Westbury Shamrocks emblem and the Deloraine Fotoball Club logo, along with Issac’s club numbers nine and 33.
Since Issac’s death, many of his sporting friends have come together to help spread awareness for mental health issues, including Rulla Kelly-Mansell.
After dealing with his own struggles, Mr Kelly-Mansell decided he wanted to help others and after Isaac’s death, formed the charity Make Runs Maxi.
The charity is now on a mission to enhance positive mental health in the community and plans on engaging with local schools, business and sporting clubs to help spread awareness.
On Thursday it was presented with a cheque for $10,000 from CJD Equipment Launceston’s Chris Saltmarsh, who gave up his sales commission for the truck.
Mrs Walters said the family were “extremely humbled” by his generous gift.
