The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting wind, rain and possible thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday with the potential for up to 50mm of rain in localised areas.
On Saturday a trough will bring a wide rainband across Tasmania in the afternoon, with a possible rainfall of 10-15mm in the North and West.
Elevated areas can expect a bit more rain, but the East Coast looks set to miss out on any solid soakings.
The Bureau has also issued a flood watch for possible flooding around the Northern catchments, with the North Esk Rive, South Esk River, Meander River, Ringarooma River, North Coastal Rivers and the Mersey River.
The Flood Watch is not a Flood Warning but simply a heads-up there may be a chance of flooding.
There’s also a chance of a thunderstorm or two on Saturday afternoon.
On Sunday the wild weather continues with a cold front moving across the state around midday.
The North and West again are expected to cop the brunt of it with 15-25mm expected and up to 50mm in localised areas.
More storms are likely in the morning across the North, while the wind will pick up to become strong and gusty across the North on Sunday afternoon and evening.
A Gale Warning has been issued for the Far North West Coast and surrounds, while a Strong Winds Warning has been issued for areas around the East and West coasts.
By Monday the worst of the weather is expected to ease but showers will continue.
Check the Bureau’s website for any warnings issued, drive to conditions, and make sure your umbrella is in working order.
A number of events around the region have been cancelled or relocated due to the forecast weather, including the Ravenswood Easter Market.
