The concert was part of the orchestra’s education and outreach program and entitled Mozart’s Magic Flute.
More than 300 students enjoyed the performance at George Town Memorial Hall.
TSO Corporate Partnership Executive Cath Adams said it was a terrific day.
“For many of the students, this would be the first time they have been exposed to classical music,” she said.
“Some may not have been introduced to classical instruments at all before today.
“It’s always nice to see their reactions and see them get so excited.”
In the lead up to Friday, students also participated in a science competition centred on the Mozart Effect, which explores how classical music may improve the performance of mental tasks.
The experiment results were displayed throughout the hall on Friday and judged by representatives of Bell Bay Aluminum, which supports the outreach program.
Bell Bay Community Relations Specialist Lou Clark said the concert was a fantastic experience for students.
“In previous years students have been in awe of the highly respected and talented musicians,” she said.
“So we are delighted to be able to provide this amazing music and educational experience to students from Port Dalrymple and South George Town Primary School, some who will be attending their very first TSO performance.”
