“Several” Tasmania Police vessels, including a rescue jet from interstate, were activated to the search near Recherche Bay, including the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
A mayday call was received about 5.30am, with the chopper locating the vessel just after 6am.
“[The helicopter crew] spoke to the crew of the Allana [vessel] who were uninjured, but in need of assistance,” Tasmania Police said.
A police vessel arrived shortly after and took the men to Cockle Creek.
Tasmania Police said crews completed the search during heavy seas and 50 knot onshore northerly winds.
