After the tragic loss of Tony Long and Tony Benneworth, the club has rallied winning through to the grand final in Divisions 1, 2 and 3.

In Division 3 the loss was felt closest to home with both Long and Benneworth skipping in the team’s semi-final match last fortnight.

Geoff Cherry and Henry Bowden stepped up to support John Price and the three rinks were able to get the win the club so desperately wanted.

Geoff Cherry and John Price secured a 24-shot margin between them, enough to carry the six-shot Bowden loss to Sophie Fletcher. Trevallyn will now play Invermay in Sunday’s final. 

In Premier it was East Launceston who was able to bounce back from their semi-final loss, defeating Trevallyn in a game that, although at times close, East always had control of.

The table turned from the first performance with Robert McMullen and Aaron Page both getting wins for their team against some quality opposition. 

East plays off in Sunday’s finals in Premier, Division 1, 2 and 5. 

Bowls North’s pennant will all be over at the end of play Sunday, with rain forecast throughout the day and changing conditions tightening the gap between some teams.

North Launceston will battle it out against East Launceston with the North crew hoping to secure their fifth Premier League premiership title in seven years.

East Launceston will play Trevallyn in both Divisions 1 and 2, while West Launceston will be hoping for wins in Division 4 and 5 against Kings Meadows and East Launceston respectively. 

Division 6 will be fought out between Invermay and Cosgrove Park, with Cosgrove securing their spot in the final in a nail-biting, one-shot victory over East Launceston on Saturday.
