Bass Liberal MHA Peter Gutwein says Tasmania has “responded to the plan [the Liberals] have laid out”.
“That, very simply, is to work hard for a majority government, ensure we keep confidence high, create investment, create jobs, and people have been very supportive of that,” he said.
Mr Gutwein said he enjoyed the treasury portfolio, but when asked if he would put his hand up for it again, he said, “that’s a matter for the premier”.
He described the Liberals’ campaign as “well run and disciplined”.
“You run as hard as you possibly can and people have been very supportive.
“Here in Bass, we had five very strong candidates. Everybody’s worked very, very hard. The supporters have been fantastic.”
Mr Gutwein said he had a quiet day on Saturday.
“I caught up with my wife and children who I haven’t seen a lot of in the past five weeks.”

Political analyst Kevin Bonham says Bass Liberal MHA Peter Gutwein is “very likely” to keep his seat at the state election.
Mr Gutwein took on the role as Treasurer in Premier Will Hodgman’s majority Liberal government.
He was particularly popular at Bridport in the 2014 election, with 363 of the Liberals’ 840 votes, which made up the majority of the 1085 formal votes at that booth.
Mr Gutwein also received a significant number of votes at Kings Meadows, with 440 of the Liberals’ 1140 votes, out of 2062 formal votes at that booth.
As well as treasury, Mr Gutwein held the local government and state growth portfolios under the Liberal government.
He faced a significant controversy over an attempt to take over Taswater.
