Director of Armidale Stud Robyn Whishaw was the guest speaker of the event, which was held at The Mercure Hotel.
An audience of about 30 people listened to the wife of the late Denis Whishaw speak about her journey within the Tasmanian racing industry.
The Tasmanian Racing Hall of Fame inductee said she was “humbled” by the invitation.
“I’m not sure my story is all that interesting, but it’s nice to be speaking in front of some familiar faces,” she said.
“The Launceston Cup is always such a great event, and creates a real buzz in the community.”
The 2018 Launceston Cup will be held on Wednesday.
