A transmission corridor will be built to transmit energy from the wind turbines to the George Town Substation located at Bell Bay.
The turbines will be located between Low Head and Beechford, with six properties to be “impacted”, according to council documents.
The properties are located in Low Head, Bell Bay and George Town.
The council voted in favour of the motion on a five-two vote.
Meanwhile, the council deferred its decision on whether to sell the George Town airport to the March council meeting
In 2008 the council first voted to sell the airport for $360,000, however the council still has the land on its books.
