Since moving to its Trevallyn site three decades ago, the committee has always dreamed of having an indoor range.
After years of fundraising, the club finally secured enough money to start the $160,000 shed project, but due to “cost variations”, the shed would be left “bare boned” without further funding.
On Monday, Labor leader Rebecca White and deputy opposition leader Michelle O’Byrne announced the club would receive the funds to finish, if the party is elected in March.
The money would be used to buy a safety board, target butts and secure storage.
“Obviously without those things the whole build is redundant,” Ms White said.
Paringa president Rolfe de le Motte said the funds would make the build “much easier”.
“Without the funding, it would mean it would be sometime before we could even use it … it means we can get it finished properly,” he said.
Once the development is finished, it will be the only indoor range in Tasmania.
