The council’s event sponsorship program provides funding for events that offer “community, social, cultural, tourism and economic benefits to the Launceston community”, according to a council spokesman.
Sponsorship is available for events held between August 1 and December 31 for the categories of major events, small events and start-up events.
Meanwhile, the council’s community grants program offers funding for projects by community organisations within the municipality.
Funding is also available under the community grants program for kids under-18 participating in sporting, academic or cultural endeavours.
Applications close on March 15 and March 31 for the event sponsorship grants and community grants respectively.
