Launched in 2008, the initiative aimed to encourage and recognise those who made their properties friendly to Tasmania’s environment and wildlife.
Garden owner Margaret Dockray said they “don’t harm or kill the wildlife – they work with it.”
“We’re really pleased to be part of that program,” she said.
“The interesting thing about this place is that it runs from a quite regulated, park-like garden that spreads into 100 acres up the hill, where it’s more natural forest. So, there’s a lot of wildlife.
“It’s their environment, and we just work around it.”
