Every year Festivale team up with sponsors Bellamy’s Organic to bring a host of fun and free kids entertainment and activities to the Kids Kingdom for the entire weekend.
Inside the big tent, Kid I Am are back for their second Festivale and will be running six different activities for kids aged 4 – 12.
Kid I Am organiser Sam Denmeade said they were thrilled at being asked back after last years success.
“I think what parents enjoy about our activities is that we offer an alternative to face painting and jumping castles, which are great, but our area of expertise is engaging and stimulating kids through activities such as craft or yoga so they can feel involved,” said Sam.
“The entertainment and activities arranged for kids by Festivale is a really nice mix, we like to think we offer something different for both parents and kids.
“I think we have found our niche in being able to offer event organisers like Festivale fun and engaging activities for kids.”
Kids have a range of activities to look forward to within the brain, craft, reading and active zones.
All areas offer a chance for parents to get involved too and spend some time actively engaged with their kids.
Activities include ten-pin bowling and yoga in the outdoor active zone, crafts including decorating rocks with Tas Rocks and decorating biscuits and in the brain zone there pool noodle construction, everything from marble runs to car racing and balloon bashing.
Sam encouraged parents to come and check out the Kids Kingdom as the first port of call for a more relaxed day out with your family.
“The tent is a great place for parents and kids to spend an hour or two, it isn’t a childcare service, it is an opportunity to get engaged with your kids and take part yourself,” Sam said.
“The family market is massive and often parents need to bring their kids along to events, and if the kids aren’t entertained it is harder for parents to relax and enjoy the event.”
All activities in the Bellamy’s Organic Kids Kingdom are free, running Friday: 5:45pm -8pm Saturday: 11am-8pm Sunday: 10am-4pm.
The Kids Kingdom will be based close to the City Park playground and will also feature Playgroup Tasmania, The Music Tree, Fancy Faces and Taiko Oni Jima of Launceston PCYC.
A full program of events and activities has been prepared by all organisations taking part to keep the littlies busy and happy over the entire weekend.
Your children aged 0-12 can enjoy non-stop activities and fun.
A full program of events can be found online at Festivale’s website.
