Winning the toss and electing to bat, the Hurricanes had an even contribution from the top five on their way to 234 all out from 48.5 overs.
Brodie Hayes (57), Nick Revell (52), Josh Barry (44), captain Brady Yates (31) and Nick Granger (21) took advantage of the flat pitch before the tail collapsed.
Callan Morse with 2-53 off nine overs and Nathan Avery with 2-25 off five overs proved the Demons multiple wicket-takers.
The Latrobe reply got off to the worst of starts with Morse and Josh Salter back in the pavilion cheaply amid 2-9 off 10 overs from man-of-the-match Tyler Johns.
The Demons steadied through Trent Keep and Tristan Weeks before threatening to take the game down to the wire.
But Yates dismissed Weeks for 55 and late had Keep out for a well-compiled 71 and, other than a cameo of 27 from Dion Parsons at the end, the run rate required proved too much for the Demons.
Yates was the leading wicket-taker with 3-65 from nine overs.
Captain Yates said the trophy means a lot to the club and believed it wouldn’t have been possible without a balanced team.
“I know the club has never won the Greater Northern Cup title, so it means a hell of a lot to us,” Yates said.
“It shows how adaptable our players are at the moment.”
