For the third year running the festival committee has teamed up with Music Tasmania to showcase a number of up-and-coming bands on the Homebrewed stage.
Kicking off on Friday, bands will have the opportunity to connect with the 16,000 punters expected to attend the festival over three days.
Isla Ka’s vocalist Frankie Andrew said the group was stoked to have been chosen to perform.
“We are really excited and are feeling really happy that we snagged this gig,” she said.
“Coming into the new year we have some awesome things lined up so it should be good.”
Other Tasmanian favorites gearing up to perform include Kat Edwards, Heart Beach, The Sleepyheads, Chase City, Sundaze, Younger Dryas, Lazer Baby, The Embers and more.
On Thursday Falls Festival co-producer Paul Piticco said the event was tracking well to sell out, with only a handful of tickets left.
“Everything is running on time, and the build has been really smooth,” he said.
“We are looking forward to Peking Duk bringing in the New Year.”
Other headline acts include Flume, Fleet Foxes, The Kooks, Glass Animals, Liam Gallagher, Angus and Julia Stone and Foster the People, who are all set to perform between Friday and Sunday.
For the first time festival organisers have also introduced a tap-and-go payment system, a wine bar, Aboriginal dance workshops, bush tucker walks and daily beach cricket with the Hobart Hurricanes.
