Each year, Mudlark Theatre challenges actors, writers and directors to write, cast, rehearse and perform seven new plays in 24 hours for the project.
Tasmanian playwrights, including some who are interstate, were busy pounding on their keyboards to create a 10 to 20 minute play from 8pm on Friday.
Theatre board member Megan Jolly received a flurry of emailed scripts at 5am on Saturday and then the baton was passed to the directors and actors.
It was quite a commitment as others collaborated with and relied on the work of their group members, Jolly said.
So far more than 110 actors had performed 209 roles in 82 plays written by 30 playwrights since 2004, Jolly said.
The final productions will be on show on Saturday, December 9, at the Earl Arts Centre from 8pm. Tickets are on sale for $24 for adults and $12 for students at the door.
